Easy White Cake Recipe

 

This straightforward cake recipe was shared by our children’s school, and it has become my go-to for a delicious treat. It’s incredibly simple to prepare and perfect for baking with kids, especially when making cupcakes. Top this delightful cake with your favorite frosting for a sweet finish.

 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¾ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ cup milk

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9-inch square cake pan.

  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and butter. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing briefly after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until well combined. Pour in the milk and stir until the batter is smooth.

  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the top springs back when lightly touched.

  6. Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely. Frost as desired and enjoy!
